About

Karen is a nationally certified Pilates instructor since 2003 and an internationally studied practitioner of Anusara yoga since 2001.  With over 1000 hours of Anusara yoga with founder, John Friend, and senior teachers in Europe, Costa Rica and throughout the United States, Anusara yoga is a way of life which influences all of Karen's teaching.  

The guiding premise of Karen's teaching is that life, at its essence, is good and that nature is consciously and continuously evolving back into a state of wholeness and unity, health and well being.  With skillful and intuitive wisdom she will help you better understand what you are capable of, empowering you to find your hidden resources and challenging you to experience them for yourself. Her encouragement, focus and compassion for each student is inspiring and genuine. 

Raised in Canada, you may still hear an occasional, enthusiastic "eh!"  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University after which she followed a finance career for almost 14 years.  It was yoga and pilates that revealed her true passion and gave her the courage to embark on a life based on service and a daily celebration of the heart.

Karen returned to Indiana in 2009 after two years in California where dolphins and sea lions danced in the back yard, sunsets were more spectacular every day and the ocean reminded her constantly of life's miracles.  These miracles are everywhere we turn if we open our eyes, wipe away the fog and take a closer look.  Karen invites you to see your beauty, your well being and your life more clearly in the dance of Pilates and yoga.
